British Made Espresso Coffee Machines
We transform British-sourced stainless steel and copper sheet, tube, rod and brass into our multi-award winning espresso coffee machines.
We don’t simply assemble components sourced from suppliers around the world; we utilise the latest technology manufacturing systems and employ a team of highly skilled engineers, ensuring that around 90% of all components that make up a Fracino machineare fabricated, machined and assembled in our own factory, ensuring British craftsmanship and British materials combine to produce exceptional quality and reliability in a model range designed to offer its owners a very long service life.

A Little Bit Of Fracino’s History
The powerful success story of multi award-winning Fracino, a third generation family business and the UK’s only manufacturer of espresso coffee machines -spans over five decades.
1960’s
The story began in 1962 when machine tool designer Frank Maxwell – hailed as ‘the godfather of espresso’ – stripped down a second hand coffee machine bought on a family holiday in Italy. A year later Frank launched the business in a garden shed and started importing and supplying coffee machines to retail outlets in Britain.
1990’s
The company has traded under the Fracino brand since 1990. Based on the Wyrley Trading Estate in Birmingham, Fracino’s 60 plus product portfolio is now enjoyed and respected worldwide. Its powerful machines are tailored to suit all budgets, with customised equipment meeting technical and aesthetic requirements.
2000’s
Fracino is recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing inner city enterprises, scoops a Millennium Product Award for design for the Roastilino counter top roaster and is the first company of its kind to gain the ISO 9001 quality standard.
Fracino wins the Equipment & Supplies Excellence Award from the Caterer and Hotelkeeper for the Cybercino bean to cup machine.
In a speech on exporting and growth in November 2011, British Prime Minister David Cameron said: “It’s not just the film industry where Britain is excelling – Fracino in Birmingham is selling coffee-makers to Italy.”
Fracino expands its manufacturing facility to a new purpose-built headquarters close to its current site to meet increased demand – bringing the total size of the company’s premises to 50,000 sq ft.
A momentous year in which Fracino celebrates 50 years in the coffee industry and is invited to supply 11 of its Piccino machines to the G8 summit in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. The machines were available in the world leaders lodges – promoting British innovation and manufacturing expertise. Prime Minister David Cameron also has a machine at number 10. In the same year Fracino was tipped next to Mini and Jaguar Land Rover as one of 5 Super-Brit brands taking over the world in 2014 (LondonlovesBusiness) and clinched the following awards:
- Winner of Winners Award – (manufacturer’s association, the EEF).
- Outstanding Export Award – (manufacturer’s association, the EEF).
- New Frontiers Award (UK Red Ribbon Awards – Family Business Place).
- Excellence in International Business (Birmingham Chamber of Commerce).
- Manufacturer of the Year (Essential Café).
Fracino founder, Frank Maxwell receives a Lifetime Achievement Award from Essential Café and Fracino’s trailblazing success continues.
Design and
Development
Using the latest state-of-the-art 3D CAD technology in our purpose built studios,
Fracino can create amazing virtual reality versions of our existing equipment range
and develop design concepts for the creation of our next generation models

R & D team
Our R & D team are able to very professionally create the designs and concepts for new models as well as bespoke features to suit customers requirements with a very short turnaround time.

Solidworks
Solidworks, the design system Fracino work with, eliminates the need for costly production samples in the early stages of new product development with the ability to model every component that goes in to one of our machines virtually and assemble them together –ensuring each item fits perfectly.
Prototype
Once the design team have produced the accurate virtual components, we can then produce prototype versions to allow rigorous testing and evaluation, ensuring that they meet our exacting standards and life-cycle demands before releasing to full production.

Manufacturing
Fracino has invested heavily in the latest technology production equipment –bringing the manufacturing efficiency, productivity and accuracy to an industry-leading level.
A recent investment is a new state of the art Amada LCG laser cutter system, with fully automated material load/unload facility. With this new laser system, Fracino can now laser cut the metal sheet required for the chassis and external finishing panels with exceptional accuracy and better material utilisation, improving quality and reducing waste.
Our latest addition is the Amada FLW M3 fibre-optic robotic welder. This system will enable us to increase productivity on the boiler and panel assembly line by a factor of 5 times, whilst substantially improving quality and consistency of finish. Fracino consistently strives for perfection in design and functionality of all our models and quality. fabrication atevery stage is a major aspect in this ethos.
